Our Managed Services & AI Technician is a hybrid role that combines the work of a managed services technician with the work of an AI technician. You will support, maintain and troubleshoot our clients’ computers, servers and networks through remote support software, phone calls and occasional onsite visits. You will also put AI to work: using AI tools, large language models (LLMs) and automation to improve processes and find solutions, both for our clients and for OAC Technology itself. This position is for the person who loves solving problems, keeps up with what AI can actually do today, and wants to turn it into practical results for small and medium businesses.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to clients through remote support tools, phone and email, as well as occasional onsite visits
  • Troubleshoot problems with Microsoft Windows desktops and servers, Microsoft 365, networking and firewalls
  • Support assigned client systems, servers, email systems and workstations, and maintain and monitor their backup solutions
  • Find repetitive work in client businesses and in our own help desk, and automate it with scripting, workflows and AI tools
  • Deploy, configure and support AI tools for clients, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude, and open-source large language models such as Llama for clients who need their data kept private
  • Build AI assistants and automations that connect business data, answer questions from internal documents, draft customer communications, and handle scheduling and administrative tasks
  • Use AI and automation to improve OAC Technology’s own processes, including ticket triage, documentation, reporting and routine maintenance
  • Evaluate new AI tools and models, and recommend where they fit, where they do not, and what they cost
  • Advise clients on AI data privacy and security, including what information should and should not go into AI tools
  • Document the solutions you build and train clients and coworkers to use them
Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail & follow through
  • Ability to work independently or on a team, with excellent problem solving skills
  • Above average customer service skills and the ability to explain technology in plain language
  • Honest & dependable
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability for on-call work
  • 2+ years’ experience in IT support, managed services or IT consulting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and networking fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and large language models such as ChatGPT, Claude or Microsoft Copilot, beyond casual use
  • Scripting or automation experience, such as PowerShell, Python or Power Automate
  • An understanding of the data privacy and security risks that come with AI tools
Nice to have:
  • Experience working with APIs and connecting business applications
  • Experience running open-source language models
  • Microsoft or AI-related certifications
